On the horizon
A Nordic twist on the legendary Orient Express, the
Norient Express – Norway’s soon-to-be-launched luxury
train service – will offer travellers a scenic and sustainable
journey through the country’s spectacular landscapes on
two electric trains.
Featuring stylish interiors made from natural Norwegian
materials, an exercise room, and an observatory for
passengers to enjoy the views, the trains will begin their
journey in the coastal city of Bergen and travel through Oslo
before ending in Trondheim.
The route will take guests through some of Norway’s most
iconic landscapes – from fjords and mountains to lakes
and glaciers – and if they’re lucky they may even catch a
glimpse of the Northern Lights.
Back to Accor’s expanding Orient Express, 17 original
Orient Express cars dating back to the 1920s and 1930s
are in the process of being revived by architect Maxime
d’Angeac. In mid-2026, The Orient Express will invite
travellers to relive the legend aboard the reimagined luxury
sleeper, tracing a similar route to the historic original
from Paris to Istanbul, through France, Germany, Austria,
Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
