Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts
Collection, Florence
It may have been pipped to the top spot, but Collegio alla
Querce, the newest opening from Auberge Collection has
captured its fair share of attention since opening and came
second in the Robb Report list. Set within pristine gardens
on a hillside just outside Florence, no expense was spared
in renovating the former boarding school, chapel, and
theatre into a contemporary 83-room hotel. There are four
dining and drinking venues including Bar Bertelli in the
former principal’s office and La Gamella offering seasonal
Italian classics. Event spaces include Terrazza dell’Arco,
an outdoor event lawn while unique experiences include an
‘Opera Sound Bath’ experience.
Faena New York
Faena New York has arrived in West Chelsea’s One High
Line building, bringing the brand’s unique spirit of luxury
and experiential hospitality to the Big Apple.
Situated by the High Line and Hudson River, the 120room property draws inspiration from the vibrant energy
of 1980s New York – think animal prints, golden accents,
and eclectic interiors. This is a place where art, culture,
and hospitality converge – a 105-foot-wide mural painted
by artist Diego Gravinese adorns the entrance and there’s
a public art plaza, which hosts rotating exhibitions. Boca,
a decadent restaurant by world-renowned Chef Francis
Mallmann, serves up traditional asado cuisine, while El
Secreto is a hidden bar concealed behind an unmarked
door on the hotel’s second floor.
Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve,
Costa Rica
For groups looking to reconnect with nature,
Nekajui – the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Central
and South America – opened in February 2025.
Named after the Chorotega word for “lush garden,”
Nekajui is set in 1,400 acres on Costa Rica’s Peninsula
Papagayo with 107 ocean-facing rooms, suites, and three
luxury treetop tents, a spa with hydrotherapy pools, and
a beach club accessible only by a funicular. The resort’s
F&B offerings include Puna, the signature restaurant by
acclaimed Chef Diego Muñoz and Ámbar, a suspended
treetop bar. There’s a raft of options for incentive groups,
from outdoor adventures such as ziplining to canoe
excursions through enchanting mangroves.
Fairmont Tokyo
Further afield, Accor’s Fairmont brand made its debut in
Japan with the opening of the Fairmont Tokyo, located
in the newly developed BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA Tower
South.
Spanning floors 35 to 43 of the sleek skyscraper, the hotel
boasts stunning views of the city skyline, Tokyo Tower
and Tokyo Bay. Ascending to the 35th-floor lobby, guests
are greeted by an expansive space adorned with lush
greenery, opening onto outdoor terraces. There are 217
rooms, the Fairmont Spa and Health Club on the 35th
floor and seven dining and drinking venues. For meetings
and events, the Fairmont Grand Ballroom is one of Tokyo’s
largest, while THE SEA on the 43rd floor offers a unique
open kitchen concept for intimate gatherings.
